RX Bandits announce dates for farewell tour beginning in June

Posted on 03 May 2011 by James Gentry

Southern California’s cult beloved prog-psych-rock quartet RX Bandits have announced initial dates for what is to be the band’s farewell headlining tour. The long-running group has seen many triumphs in its 16-year existence and goes out at the height of its career, following their 2010 series of sold out shows performing three previous albums in their entirety, playing Bonnaroo, Coachella and Bamboozle festivals and receiving considerable critical and fan praise for its 2009 release, Mandala.

Last month, RX Bandits announced that their forthcoming tour would be their last. Their brief statement reads: “We would like to express our love and appreciation for all that you’ve done for us and how much a part of our growth you have been. We have all mutually decided that this summer will be our last tour. We love each other and love you all and hope to see you at the shows.”

In an age where taking risks and being fearless can make or break you, RXB emerged as a tidal wave, a force that shatters all the boundaries set against them. Throughout their long career, the group reinvented and revolutionized their identity while retaining their socially conscious lyrics and eruptive instrumentation. This concept has been the catalyst for the band’s ever-growing fan base, which revels in their uniqueness and continue to storm their celebrated, incendiary live shows.

Tickets for the final tour shows will be available soon.

Peter Wolf Crier Announce First West Coast Tour

Posted on 17 November 2010 by James Gentry

Peter Wolf Crier have spent most of 2010 performing with a pantheon of talent including Rogue Wave, Midlake, Dawes, Vetiver, and Freelance Whales. Starting January 10th Peter Wolf Crier will follow in the footsteps of Lewis & Clark and head out west to the coast and back again. Co-headlining this tour will be Sub Pop recording artists Retribution Gospel Choir featuring Alan Sparhawk and other members from Low. This will be Peter Wolf Crier’s first tour of the West Coast since the release of their debut album Inter-Be.

Besides touring, Peter Wolf Crier’s Brian Moen and Peter Pisano have been busy gents. There’s a brand new session with Daytrotter. Peter Wolf Crier have again partnered with the film crew at Northern Outpost, producing a stunning new video for “Down Down Down.” You can also hear a new cover of Nick Drake’s “Place To Be” true to the original but with a more modern twist by Peter Wolf Crier.

“Inter-Be is the record they made together, and it’s a perfect debut, but seeing them live is my favorite way to take in this fervent, inspired music”- BOB BOILEN, NPR

“Pisano sings in a rangy falsetto. His songwriting is ragged, understated, and striking above all else. Moen’s textural contributions are just as subtle. Though Inter-Be sounds roughly hewn at times, it’s an album woven together with great care and a sharp ear for detail.”- PITCHFORK

“it’s music that reaffirms you, that steadies you in your skin and in your bones- music that can heal you once and for all.”- DAYTROTTER
